NTL’s decision to charge customers a “handling fee” if they choose to not pay by direct debit is a disgrace. At a company level one understands that it costs more to bill those people that are not on direct debit, and it costs more to administer their accounts. The question I have is what those pensioners, for example, who don’t have a bank account, just a post office account? I think Gerry Ryan and Joe Duffy will be getting a few people on complaing about this one! Just another price increase in an already more costly 2007 and we’ve not even reached March yet!. Don’t pay it is the answer I suppose. After all the basic Sky package at €21.50 per month is cheaper than NTL Basic.
