Irish Homeowners ‘paying €3,000 too much for Mortgages

Tens of thousands of Irish homeowners are paying up to €3,000 too much every year in mortgage repayments. According to the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS), many struggling householders are losing out because they fail to shop around.
There is now an average of seven families before the High Court every week who have been served with repossession orders.However, legal experts last night said this was just the “tip of the iceberg”, with hundreds of similar cases coming before district and circuit courts around the country in recent months.
