Ireland finally sees arrival of the iPhone
Feb 28 2008
The long-awaited Apple iPhone is to go on sale in Ireland on 14 March in O2 stores and Carphone Warehouse outlets, it was revealed on Thursday.
The device will be made available on the O2 network and will come in an 8GB model for EUR399, including VAT, and a 16GB model for EUR499, including VAT. O2 is also introducing three iPhone tariffs, starting at EUR45, which include anytime minutes, texts and a 1GB data bundle.
Irish consumers have been waiting months for the device, which launched in the US in June 2007 and in the UK in November. However, if sales across the rest of Europe are anything to go by, O2 may have some difficulty in shifting large volumes of the iPhone.
