LOGITECH Harmony 555 Universal Remote Control
Most of us have lots of gadgets with remote controls. So what happens? Your coffee table is covered in remotes and there is no room for your favourite cappacino!. TVs, DVD players, TIVOs, home theatre systems, the list goes on. So what do you need to do? Throw away the cheat sheet and get intuitive, one-touch control over all your home entertainment components. Want to watch a movie? Play some music? Just say so and let the Logitech Harmony 555 Remote Control do the rest. It’s easy enough for the houseguests, for the babysitter, for the kids—and of course for you.
The Harmony tackles the control problem from a different perspective by organizing your controls into activities. Rather than control your equipment device-by-device (which it can do), you instead choose an activity such as ‘Watch a DVD’ and the buttons on the control will operate all equipment necessary to perform that activity.
Like most universal controls, the Harmony has both a database of pre-defined ‘codes’ to control popular equipment, and a self-learning mode to capture signals directly from an existing control. However, this is taken to another level by storing all pre-defined codes centrally on the Logitech website, and by configuring the control with software that connects the control through a USB port.
