World Animal Week - Sept 28th - Oct 5th 2008

World Animal Week helps to raise awareness for the difference we can all make to improve animal welfare in Ireland and make the world a better and safer place for all animals that play such a huge part in our lives.

World Animal Week is an annual event which is organized around the feast day (4th October) of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

To help celebrate this event, Pedigree and Whiskas are searching for Ireland’s Best Loved Dog and Cat - a celebration of the pets that bring joy, comfort, happiness and unforgettable memories to our lives.

Pet lovers can submit their story on-line by logging onto the World Animal Week website www.worldanimalweek.ie to compete for a fantastic pet-friendly holiday worth €1,000 and a six-month supply of Pedigree or Whiskas.

The closing date for entrants is Sunday 10th August 2008 and the public will also have a chance to vote online for your pet beginning August 25th 2008.

Best of luck everyone!
