Taxi fares are set to become more expensive from midnight, when an 8.3 per cent price increase comes into effect. The rise, which was announced by the regulator in September, will see the cost of hailing a cab rise to €4.10 at the standard rate and €4.45 at the premium rate, which applies from 8pm to 8am each day, and all day on Sunday and bank holidays.
